Dr Maitreyee Momi Dutta, a clinical psychologist of Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health, Tezpur, and a prolific writer, passed away at 10.20 pm last night in city-based Health City Hospital.
The clinical psychologist struggled through cancer for a few years. Though she recovered from the fatal disease she finally succumbed to a cardiac arrest last evening.
Through her writings on mental well-being, she had inspired thousands of people and had a large number of fan followers. Through her own experience of fighting with cancer she tried to create awareness on the disease and also to inspire people to fight through such fatal illness. In her writings she delved through various subjects from biographies to film analysis. She left behind her husband Dr Kangkan Pathak who is a psychiatrist in Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health, Tezpur, her mother and 4 siblings.
