Guwahati, Oct 12: Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today congratulated Indian para-badminton athlete Manasi G Joshi for getting recognised by the Time Magazine as the Next Generation Leader.
Himanta took to Twitter to congratulate Manasi on her Time Magazine recognition. "We are so proud of you Manasi. Congratulations and salute to your steely resolve. May you remain an inspiration for millions," Himanta tweeted.
Recently Manasi took to her social media handle and wrote, "Truly honoured to be recognised by Time Magazine as the Next Generation Leader. The younger me would have never believed it that some day I will be on the cover of TIME and be called the next generation leader. This is so huge."
Manasi Girishchandra Joshi is an Indian para-badminton athlete who is as of June 2019 World No. 2 in SL3 Singles. Joshi won a silver medal at the Para-Badminton World Championship in 2015. She won a bronze medal at the Asian Para Games 2018. At the Para-Badminton World Championship 2019 she won a gold medal. Joshi lost her leg in a motorbike accident.
