Guwahati, Oct 22: The beats of the Dhak, the making of different sweets and pandal hoping. Yes, it is that of the year again. Durga Puja, one of the biggest festivals in India, began in Assam today but with the COVID 19 restrictions.
The Assam Government has already issued guidelines in order to curb a possible rise of the coronavirus infections in the state during the Durga puja festival.
Many puja committees in the state including those in Guwahati have kept the puja celebration a low-key affair due to COVID 19 pandemic. The committees will restrict the celebration with religious rituals only.
The Durga Puja began from today and will end on October 26.
