Guwahati, Oct 22: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal inaugurated the newly-constructed Ganeshguri Flyover in presence finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Guwahati development department minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya in Guwahati today.
Inaugurating the flyover, sonowal said that the newly constructed section will ease traffic congestion in the city. ‘Dedicating the newly built section of Ganeshguri Flyover to the state. Sonowal also tweeted.'
Himanta on the occassion said, ' I am so proud and glad that we have fulfilled a promise made to Guwahati. The 425.5 m flyover in Ganeshguri (Rs 58.74cr), inaugurated by HCM Sarbananda Sonowal is special for it comes during Durga Puja and shows commitment of PWD team amid COVID adversities.'
The estimated time for the completion of the 425.50 meter-long flyover was 36 months. The flyover has been constructed with a cost of Rs. 58.78 crore from SOPD (State-Owned Priority Development) fund 2019-20.
The foundation stone of the flyover was laid by CM Sarbananda Sonowal on March 6, 2019.
