Guwahati, Oct 17: Assam today remembered the "architect of modern Assam" Radha Govinda Baruah on his birth anniversary.
Called "the architect of modern Assam", Radha Govinda Baruah is noted for his contributions to Assam's culture and society. Baruah was the founder of The Assam Tribune. He was president of the Assam Cricket Association for over a decade. The R G Baruah College in Guwahati is named after him.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today paid rich tributes to Radha Govinda Baruah on his birth anniversary and said his imprints in the development sphere of Assam are invaluable. "A pioneering personality, Radha Govinda Baruah's imprints in the development sphere of our state are invaluable. Humble tributes to the 'Architect of Modern Assam' on his birth anniversary," Sonowal tweeted.
