APCC lodges FIR against Himanta Biswa Sarmah

Guwahati, November 9: Ranjan Bora, General Secretary of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) along with party leaders and members submit an FIR against Finance, Health, and Family Welfare, Education, PWD, etc, Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, at Bhangagarh Police Station in Guwahati on Monday, November 9, 2020. Congress Leaders file the FIR against Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for his alleged video post on his facebook page where some supporters of AIUDF shouted "Pakistan Zindabad" (Hail Pakistan) while greeting party chief and MP Maulana Badruddin Ajmal at Silchar Airport on the 5th of November.

The AIUDF chief has however denied the allegation and said that party supporters raised the slogan of "Aziz Khan Zindabad" (AIDUF MLA of South Karimganj) and not "Pakistan Zindabad".According to APCC, Himanta remarks on social media intending to create religious tension between the two religious communities of the State through a misleading statement and false Facebook post.
