Guwahati, Nov 2: The educational institutions in Assam have reopened nearly after 8 months from today. The institutions were closed since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Classes for VI to XII standards have started from today. Also all undergraduate, degree colleges, engineering colleges, polytechnics, universities and private training and coaching institutes also reopened today.
Classes for students of standards IX to XII had partially resumed from September 21. However, classes for I to V students will continue to remain closed until further orders.
Earlier, a detailed SOP (standard operating procedure) for fresh reopening of classes in all schools and colleges for maintaining the protocols of safety guidelines under the COVID-19 pandemic was issued by the Assam Government.
