Guwahati, Nov 3: Assam Chief Minister Sarbanand Sonowal today visited the residence of late constable of Assam Police, Roben Das who lost his life during an operation against cattle smugglers at Indo-Bangla Border in South Salmara District recently.
The Chief Minister while visiting the late constable’s residence at Hathinapur in Barpeta District offered floral tributes at the latter’s portrait and interacted with the family members and conveyed his deep sympathy.
The Chief Minister also handed over a cheque of Rs. 10 Lakh to the mother of late constable Roben Das as financial assistance from the State Government.
He also said that the State Government would take steps to provide employment to one of the family members of the late constable.
