Guwahati, Nov 3: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today interacted with bell metal artisans at Sarthebari.
During the course of the interaction, the metal artisans informed the CM that their handcrafted products are exported to Bhutan, China and other nations.
"At Sarthebari, interacted with bell metal artisans, Ratan Deka, Sanjit Barman, Subodh Deka & Mahendra Deka. Glad to know that their handcrafted products are now also exported to Bhutan, China and other nations. A proud instance of the growing interest of our heritage products," Sonowal tweeted.
Sonowal also spoke to workers at the Asom Samabay Kohar Sangha Limited Roll Mill at Sarthebari and took stock of their works.
Sarthebari in Bajali district of Assam is home to the bell metal industry, the second largest handicraft of assam after bamboo craft.
