Guwahati, Dec 28: The youth wing of ASOMI -The Cultural Essence – a Pune based organisation of Assamese diaspora organised an online event to usher in an atmosphere of positivity post Covid and to cement inter-community bonding away from home.
The event started off with a welcome speech by Miss Bishmita Dutta Baruah, a prominent ASOMI member. Priyankan Goswami, joined general secretary of ASOMI enlightened the audience with a brief introduction about the organisation, its motive and the good work done by it so far.
The event treated the audience to a musical extravaganza with the performances of many prominent artistes from Northeast India including Manashee Devi, a prominent playback singer in Assamese film and music industry.
Well-known actress and a Sattriya dancer, Monisha Bhuyan, music director and singer Rideep Das, popular singer Sushmkita Baruah and guitarst from Shillong, Silman Marak enthralled the audience through their amazing performances.
The event witnessed an active participation of the youth members as well as the audiences. A great public interactive session was held with the youth sharing their experiences and opinions about various interesting topics.
A power point presentation was made showcasing activities of youths during the lockdown.
The fun-filled event came to an end with the felicitation of Rajumoni Bora, a prominent person who is associated with the organisation very closely and extended great help to needy northeasters as well as other people during the lockdown period.
Dr Samiron Phukan, president of ASOMI offered vote of thanks and ended the event on a successful note.
The whole event was organised by the team of ASOMI youth group of Pune led by Bishal Paul, Subhashree Borthakur, Shruti Devi, Juri Konwar, Komal Bora, Sulagna Hazarika, Prabal Jyoti Das, Hiranya Konwar, Gunjan Bhattacharjee.
ASOMI in Pune has been working towards bridging the gap between the North East and Maharashtra by undertaking socio cultural activities and cultural exchange, thereby fostering cultural integration and human relations.
