Dibrugarh, 6 January: GOC Spear Corps Lieutenant General R P Kalita, arrived at Agartala, Tripura today on a two-day visit to review the security situation in the State.  

The General officer was briefed by senior Army officers and Assam Rifles commanders on operational aspects and preparedness within state including readiness for handling any natural calamities or internal security issues.  

The General Officer called on the Hon’ble Governor of Tripura, Shri Ramesh Bais to discuss prevailing security situation and assured wholehearted support of Army and Assam Rifles in maintaining peace and tranquillity in the state.
