Guwahati, Jan 16: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal launched vaccination drive against the novel coronavirus in the state today at Assam Medical College(AMC) in Dibrugarh.
Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the vaccination drive at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital(GMCH) in Guwahati.

The programme will be inaugurated across all 65 centres across the state. COVISHIELD vaccine will be administered at 59 centres and COVAXIN at 6 centres across Assam.
During the first stage , a total of 2.09 lakh people will be vaccinated. At first, 1.09 lakh people will get the vaccine followed by 1 more lakh.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also launched India's vaccination drive against the novel coronavirus via video conferencing today.
