Guwahati, Jan 23: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal , while addressing the public meeting at Jerenga Pathar at Sivasagar said that PM Narendra Modi is the biggest well-wisher of Assam and its people and the development of Assam and the northeast region is due to his support.
PM Modi arrived in the state today to distribute land pattas to over 1 lakh landless people. Sonowal felicitated Modi with traditional items including replica of Rangghar at Jarenga Pathar.
' Every occasion of PM Marendra Modi ji's visit to Assam has become synonymous with unprecedented development & transformation. Today, we once again mark the beginning of a new age of empowerment for the people of Assam, ' Sonowal said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, Assam Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked the Prime Minister for giving the region a new direction in terms of growth and inclusive development.
‘Assam and North-East got due attention from the Central Govt and madeunprecedented progress during the last 6 years. Thank you Hon’ble Narendra Modi Ji for giving the region a new direction in terms of growth & inclusive development,’ Himanta tweeted.
Himanta also said that providing land pattas to the landless people of Assam is the commitment of the Assam Government under the leadership of PM Modi. ‘Grateful to the government for their remarkable step. Something very necessary at this hour, Himanta further said.’
