Tezpur 23 January: A 22-year-old civilian young boy named Manoj Thapa, resident of villege Lokhra, Tezpur met with an accident on a motorcycle near Nagaon. He was in great pain and was not able to open his mouth for some days after which he showed it to the local civilian doctor.
The boy did not have any external injury on his face and so nobody could diagnose anything wrong with him. They referred him to Guwahati. The boy in severe pain and distress and hence reported to 4 Corps Dental Unit under Gajraj Corps, Tezpur along with his sister where he was immediately given primary medical care. His CT Scan and X-Ray taken immediately were and he was diagnosed with a fracture of mandible in which his mandible was found split into three parts.
The diagnosed fracture is very rare. The patient was immediately operated by Lt Col Azad (Maxillofacial Surgeon) of 4 Corps Dental Unit and utmost surgical and medicinal care was provided to him. The patient recovered very well and he and his family are very grateful to Indian Army and Army Medical Fraternity who provided him with immediate diagnosis care and treatment and saved him from pain and agony.
