Guwahati, Feb 20: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today extended his warm wishes to the people of the state on Statehood Day.
Taking to Twitter, Khandu said, "My warm greetings to beloved people of #ArunachalPradesh on our 35th #StatehoodDay. On this day in 1987, we became full-fledged state of Indian Union. With that came great responsibilities. Let us all work together to make Arunachal a peaceful and prosperous State."
Meanwhile, taking to Twitter, President Kovind said: "My greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh on Statehood Day. The natural beauty of the State is spectacular. Its cultural landscape has one of the world's richest diversities of ethnic tribal groups and languages." "I wish the State continues its rapid strides for development," he further said.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu took to Twitter saying, "My greetings to the people of the land of rising sun, #ArunachalPradesh on their state foundation day. Exotic culture, rich heritage, picturesque natural beauty & artistic grandeur make Arunachal truly special. My best wishes for the progress of the state & its creative people."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote in his Twitter handle, "Greetings to the wonderful people of Arunachal Pradesh on the special occasion of their Statehood Day. The people of this state are known for their culture, courage, and a strong commitment to India's development. May Arunachal Pradesh keeps scaling new heights of progress."
Taking to Twitter Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said, "Heartiest greetings to the people of ‘Land of Dawn-Lit Mountains’ Arunachal Pradesh, on their statehood day. Famous for its monasteries, orchids & natural beauty, may the state continue to attain more success under the dynamic leadership of CM Shri @PemaKhanduBJP ji. @KirenRijiju."
Arunachal Pradesh became a full-fledged state on February 20, 1987 with the Fifty-Third Amendment of the Indian Constitution, 1986.
