Guwahati, Feb 23: United Nation Officer Kaushik Barua has bagged medal under the Royal Order of Sahametrei and Sowathara of Cambodia.
Barua is the Country Director of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). He has been recognised for his remarkable contribution to poverty reduction, rural development and smallholder agricultural development in Cambodia.
Barua has been recognised for his exceptional commitment to the objectives of the Cambodia government projects, for his close collaboration with Ministries, provinces, and community partners and for introducing key innovations across the agricultural sector.
Kaushik Barua is also a prolific writer. His first novel “Windhorse” won him the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for English literature. His next book was "No Direction Rome".
