Guwahati, May 21: The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the country hard and has left millions of people in distress. To help people in need during these troubled times, Tweshaa Foundation – an NGO formed by former Indian Army personnel, Gadadhar Chelleng and his friends have undertaken multiple activities to help COVID-hit people.
Most recently, the NGO launched a ‘Free Food Supply’ programme for people in the most remote villages of Assam, according to a Press communique from the NGO.
On its first day of the Food Supply Programme, the Foundation provided ration packets to over 300 families in Maithong, Dirak in Tinsukia district of Assam’s.
Each ration packet contains rice, dal, oil, salt, potato, onion, soap, sanitary napkins and face masks. The foundation has also been serving meals to patients in home isolation in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts.
