Dibrugarh, October 1: Discovery of Bhutan Glory, Bhutanitis lidderdalii butterfly from Mishimi Hills, near Mayudia Pass.
Today a group of butterfly enthusiasts namely Minom Pertin, Deputy director of SEED NGO, Dr. Monsoon Jyoti Gogoi, Scientist at BNHS, Nawangla Bhutia,Secretary BAMOS Sikkim and Roshan Upadhaya, SEED member, recorded the rare Bhutan Glory butterfly, one of the most beautiful and most sought-after butterflies by every butterfly enthusiasts.
This discovery of beautiful butterfly from Mishimi Hills will definitely boost the butterfly enthusiasts & researchers from the country which will boost the tourism in the area. The Mishimi hills have already more then 350 species of butterflies.
Earlier the Bhutan Glory was recorded in Ziro and Eagle Nest WLS for which we already have many visitors just for this beautiful species. The Mishimi hills has got another beautiful feather added to it's fauna with this discovery.
