Anand Mishra, SP Nagaon transferred

Guwahati, 9 February: Nagaon Superintendent of Police,  Anand Mishra, IPS, was today transferred and attached to Assam Police headquarter here  with immediate effect , according to an order issued by the state government.

Earlier,  the report of the one-man inquiry panelheaded by the Additional Chief Secretary, Paban Kumar Borthakur had recommended the DGP of Assam to disband the anti-narcotics squad of Nagaon Police constituted by the SP Mishra while an ASI of the ant-narcotics squad, Padip Bania  was recommended for immediate suspension for his involvement in unprovoked firing on a former AASU leader of Nagaon district Kirti Kamal Bora. All other members  of the squad were recommended for transfer out of Nagaon district.
