President Ram Nath Kovind arrives in Assam for a three-day visit

Guwahati, Feb 25: Governor of Assam Prof. (Retd) Jagdish Mukhi along with Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed  the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind on his arrival at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi International  (LGBI) Airport here today.

The President during the visit  to the state will pay obeissance at the historic Kamakhya Temple today, inaugurate the year-long clebration of 400th birth anniversary of Ahom Era army commander  and the revered war hero of historic Battle of Saraighat. Bir Lachit Borphukan at a function in Srimanta SAnkardev Kalakshetra here  this evening.

The President will address the covocation of  Tezpur Central University tomorrow. He will stay in Kaziranga Natioal Park tomorrow before departing to New Delhi from Jorhat on February 27.
