The theme for this awareness drive was ‘ Awareness on curbing the Single Use Plastic (SUPs).
Single-use plastics (SUPs) may epitomize convenience, but the damage they cause through production, distribution and litter has invited a major threat to environmental and human health. The awareness drive also focused on the Dibrugarh Town Protection (DTP) Drain to create public awareness to prevent throwing and dumping of waste in the drain.
The dumping of garbage in the drain has significantly affected the proper functioning of the drain.
