Guwahati, October 20: A king cobra is known as a highly venomous reptile but it hardly spews its venom unless it is disturbed or threatened.
Here a majestic 11-feet-long king cobra has been captured in the lens by animal lover Manoj Gogoi, relaxing on the ceiling of a hut near Kaziranga National Park in Assam while a woman takes an afternoon siesta beneath on her bed. The reptile remains oblivious of the presence of a human being in the vicinity as it not being disturbed at all.
The picture very well justifies the often repeated appeal of the conservationists that there is no need to try capture, a reptile such as king cobra which is at peace wherever it is unless it is disturbed. It hardly attacks human beings readily but we human beings often tend to harm it out of panic or fear of being attacked by it.
