Guwahati, November 13: I visited Troilokya Dutta's house this evening to meet Anupama Bhattacharjya, his life long companion without the marriage (a rare example of two soulmates finding each other's warmth in life).

She was the mother of Runumi Thakur, the singer with the most fluid voice ever in Assam's music world. Her immortal song -"Moi Kahimaare aadhunikaa Daalimee..'' with Bhupen Hazarika still rings in our ears. After the premature death of her husband and untimely demise of Runumi Thakur, Anupamaa discovered a new world with Dutta. A cartoonist of much repute, an artist of book covers, a writer, a dramatist, a music composer Dutta was a philanthropist as well.
Anupamaa told me -"The man who loved me is gone. I should also go now to meet him...." This is sublime love. I bow my head in reverence.
