Assam Covid update: 2 more die, toll mounts to 966

Guwahati, Nov 17:  Two more persons died of COVID19 in Assam taking the death toll up to 966. The deceased were identified as Lilima Dutta (65) of Tinsukia and Chitra Ranjan Sarkar (77) of Goalpara.

As many as 242 new COVID19 positive cases detected out of 24637 tests conducted in the state today, with positivity rate of 0.98 per cent.  Kamrup Metropolitan district reported highest number of 66 new cases.

On the other hand, 357 patients were discharged from various Covid Care hospitals in the state which has so far reported detection of 210696 COVID19 positive cases and a recovery rate of 97.96 per cent.
