Guwahati, Nov 24: Paying heartfelt tribute to former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that Gogoi was a man of grand vision and extraordinary passion and he was lucky to have worked under Gogoi.
Himanta took to Twitter to pay his tribute to the departed soul adding that Gogoi was an intensely people's man, focused on progress and enjoyed support of all.
"A man of grand vision & extraordinary passion, Sri Tarun Gogoi was an intensely people's man, focused on progress & enjoyed support of all . I was lucky to have worked under him. He rescued Assam from a period of darkness & led it for 15 yrs ensuring a new phase of development," himanta tweeted.
Tarun Gogoi passed away on Monday. He was 84. Gogoi's health condition started deteriorating last Monday. He had tested positive for COVID-19 in August. The veteran Congress leader had suffered multi-organ failure and was on ventilation.
