Guwahati, Nov 25: The last rites of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will be performed at the Navagraha crematorium in the city on Thursday.
The mortal remains of the veteran congress leader were kept at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra so that the people could pay their last respects.
Assam Pradesh Congress Committee Ripun Bora said that the mortal remains of former Chief Minister will be taken to his residence tomorrow morning. From his residence, the body of the former Chief minister will be then taken to a church in Sixmile , Zoo Road Namghar, Bura Masjid in Guwahati Club, Sukreswar Ghat , Ugratara temple and finally to Nabagraha temple for the final rites, Bora added.

Tarun Gogoi passed away on Monday. He was 84. Gogoi's health condition started deteriorating last Monday. He had tested positive for COVID-19 in August. The veteran Congress leader had suffered multi-organ failure and was on ventilation.
The Assam government had also announced three-day State mourning in honour of the veteran congress leader Tarun Gogoi.
