Govt declares public holidays on BTC election days

Guwahati, Nov 25: Assam government has declared public holiday in  Baksa and Udalguri districts on December 7 next and  Kokrajhar and Chirang districts on December 10 on account of election to Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in those areas on respective dates.

A government notification issued in this regards has stated all government and non-government offices, local bodies, educational institutions, business establishments including banks and other financial insttutions, tea gardens and industrial units will remain closed in thse areas on the date mentioned in the notification.
