Guwahati, Dec 2: Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today paid rich tributes to Swargadeo Sukapha on Asom Diwas.
Paying tributes to Swargadeo Chaolung Sukapha on the occasion of 'Assam Day', Prof Jagdish Mukhi said that the legendary Sukapha was a symbol of culture and harmony who laid the foundation of Greater Assam. The Governor further said that in the days to come, Sukapha's life and values will not only inspire but also empower the new generations to build a prosperous Assam.
Sonowal took to Twitter to pay homage to Sukapha saying, "Respectful tributes to the architect of Bor Asom, the legendary Swargadeo Chaolung Sukapha on #AsomDiwas. May his ideals keep guiding us in building a strong and prosperous Assam."
Himanta Biswa Sarma took to Twitter to pay homage to the great heroic Sukapha saying the legendary hero united the small and large population of the Brahmaputra valley. The Assamese and Assamese people have set out to complete the eighth century due to the efforts of Sukapha. Today on Assam Day, we express our gratitude to this great son of Assam, Himanta said in a tweet.
