Guwahati, Dec 1: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today launched the State’s biggest DBT (direct bank transfer) scheme, Orunodoi in a public meeting held at Amingaon near here in presence of state Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The scheme will benefit 22 lakh poor families which will be provided Rs 830 each in the bank account of a woman in the family every month as nutritional and medicine support.
The beneficiaries for the schemes have been selected for 29 districts so far barring the four districts in the BTC, where model poll code of conduct is in place. Barring the BTR districts, there will be 18.20 lakh beneficiaries for the scheme.
