Guwahati, Dec 13: Hagrama Mohilary, the Chief of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has expressed hope that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will support his party in forming the government in Bodoland Territorial Council.
Mohilarly said that since they are in alliance with BJP in the centre as well as in the state they are hopeful that the BJP will support them in forming the government.
Hagrama also thanked the people for their love and support in the recently concluded in Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) polls.
‘With the love and support of the people our party has got the single largest majority with 17 seats out of 40.Since we are in alliance with the BJP in Central as well as the State, our party is hopeful that the BJP will support us in forming the government,’ Hagrama tweeted.
Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) won 17 seats in the 40-member BTC election. Pramod Boro-led United People’s Party Liberal (UPP) has bagged 12 seats while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged victorious in 9 out of total 26 seats it had contested for.
The Congress and Naba Sarania’s Gana Suraksha Party won only one seat each.
BTC could witness a coalition rule for the first time, since no party has crossed the halfway mark of winning 20 seats.
