Health and Family Welfare Minister of Assam, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today took stock of the preparedness in Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) to combat novel corona virus.
He held discussions with doctors and staff of the institution and sounded satisfied with their high motivation level to serve the needy in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.
He was accompanied by State’s Forest and Fisheries minister Parimal Suklavaidya and Silchar MP, Dr Rajdeep Roy.
Following his visit to the SMCH which has been made one of the testing centres in the state for COVID-19, tweeted: Visited Silchar Medical College to take a stock of quarantine preparations & facilities. Minister Sri @parimalsukla, MP Sri @drrajdeeproy, MLAs from Barak Valley & senior officials also present. I highly laud high degree of motivation by doctors and staff.
