
Guwahati, 29 April 29: Governor of Assam, Prof Jagdish Mukhi has condoled the death of Indian freedom activist, social worker, Sarvodaya leader and Gandhian, Padmashri Hema Bharali.
In a condolence message today, Prof. Mukhi while expressing his deep condolence, said that with her death the state has lost a social worker and a Gandhian thinker.
“She was known for her contributions for the empowerment of women who also worked tirelessly for the uplift of the socially and economically challenged sections of the society. Her life and works will continue to be a source of inspiration for the present and upcoming generations in the State,” Governor said.
Prof. Mukhi expressed his empathy with the near and dear ones of the deceased and prayed to God for eternal peace of the departed soul.
