85 students released from Sarusajai quarantine after test cleared

Guwahati, May 10: Altogether 85 students from Assam who were brought from Gujarat and Rajasthan were discharged from the quarantine centre at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati today after their tests were cleared.

The students were released in the presence of Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Himanta took to his twitter handle to share the news and wrote, “85 students, studying at different institutions in Rajasthan & Gujarat, who were under quarantine at Sarusajai Stadium, have been discharged after their tests were clear.

We admire the tenacity of these boys in staying put as per instructions, and supporting us. Best wishes.”

The students were studying at different institutions in Rajasthan and Gujarat and were stranded there due to the countrywide lockdown. They were brought back to Assam and put under quarantine at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati.
