Transgender Quarantine Centre opens in Manipur

Guwahati, May 21: The government of Manipur has set up Transgender Quarantine Centre at Government Ideal Blind School at Takyelpat. The centre will accommodate transgender returnees coming from other states.

“Transgender Quarantine Centre opened at Government Ideal Blind School, Takyelpat is now ready to receive stranded Transgender coming from other states,” Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh tweeted today.

Several Manipuri people are returning to their native states from various Indian cities where they were stranded due to the country-wide lockdown for coronavirus. The government of Manipur has set up quarantine centres for accommodating the returnees in their home states.
