Guwahati, 10 June: Beauty parlours, saloons and various wellness centre in Guwahati city have reopened along those in the rest of the country in tune with the guidelines issued by the government for the unlock phase-1.
These business centres have started running with reduced staff strength – most of them are engaging staff on rotation basis – pruned seating capacity for maintenance of social distance.
There have made arrangements for thermal screening of customers, frequent sanitization of equipment and chairs, table tops etc. They are now providing only limited services as per the guidelines issued by the government. Both of the saloons and beauty parlours now provide services like hair cutting and hair coloring only. Instead of scissors, they are now using only hair trimming machines.
The staffs of some of these service centres have been found working wearing masks, gloves, caps and shoes as precaution against COVID-19 pandemic.
“We now provide disposable apron for customers for each haircutting or hair dyeing session and for that we are not charging any extra fees from customers. The rates have remained the same as those were before the lockdown induced by the pandemic,” said Nazim Ali, owner of Cheveu Unisex parlour in the city.
