Sudarsan Pattnaik's sand art on Puri Rath Yatra 2020 is a must watch

Guwahati, June 23: World renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik's sand art on Puri Rath Yatra this year is desfinitely a must watch. He created three chariots of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra at Puri Beach on the occassion of Jagannath Rath Yatra, which started from today.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had stayed the annual Rath Yatra at Jagannath Temple in Puri and all activities related to the festival in view of the COVID-19 pandemic this year. However, on Monday, the apex court decided to modify its earlier order to and allow the annual Jagannath Rath Yatra in Odisha's Puri. The festival is to be held with the coordination of the temple committee, State and Central government without compromising with the health issue pertaining to coronavirus disease.

Sudarsan Pattnaik has represented India in over 60 international sand sculpture championships and festivals all around the world. he has won around 27 championship prizes for the country. Sudarsan, apart from these is also creating social awareness in national and international field on world peace, global warming, terrorism, HIV AIDS, to save endangered wildlife species through his sand art. The Governemnt if India honoured him with Padma Shri in 2014.
