Guwahati, July 3: The construction of a floating jetty at Sonamura subdivision is ready, Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb said.

The floating jetty will pave the way for small vessels to ply between Sonamura of Tripura and Daudkandi of Bangladesh, Deb said.

Sonamura will now be a custom port which will bring economic development in North East.

Deb said that the making of floating jetty in just 3 weeks during this time of pandemic has only been possible under the visionary leadership and the continuous support of PM Modi and Mansukh Mandviya , Minister of State for Shipping (Independent Charge) and Chemicals & Fertilizers.

Deb also thanked Government of India for putting Sonamura on Indo-Bangla Protocol Route map.
