Guwahati, July 1: Actor, supermodel and entrepreneur Dipannita Sharma has said that natural phenomena like flood could not be controlled but work could be done towards better planning on avoiding the damage.
Dipannita was deeply anguished by the loss of lives in Assam due to flood. The supermodel took to her Instagram account to express solidarity with the flood affected people. She posted a heartfelt note in her social media handle and said we need to be better equipped to handle flood year after
year. Flood situation in Assam should get enough attention countywide. Nature could not be controlled but work could be done towards better planning on how to avoid the damage. As countrymen we should come up with a solution. Alternative housing for people affected could help. Collectively we can get people in power to listen to us, she said.
Around 9,26,059 people have been affected in 23 districts due to flood situation in the state, acccording to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority on Tuesday. Flood has created havoc across several districts of the state.
