Assam COVID-19: 408 new cases reported, 378 cases from Guwahati alone

Guwahati, July 3: Assam reported another 408 more COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, out of which 378 cases are reported from Guwahati city alone, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
' Alert ~ 408 new #COVID19+ cases detected today. In last 24 hours 378 cases reported from Guwahati City,' Himanta tweeted.
Himanta also requested the citizens to strictly follow lockdown guidelines. The State Government had imposed a complete lockdown in the Guwahati city for 14 days that started from Sunday midnight due to rise in number of COVID-19 cases in the city.
‘We request all to follow lockdown rules sincerely’, Himanta further tweeted.
With the detection of these new cases, the total number of cases in the state now stands at 8955, out of which 3109 are active cases. Around 5831 persons have recovered and 12 deaths are reported from the disease so far.
