Guwahati, July 2: The Arunachal Government has announced the reopening of all the worships places outside the containment zone with effect from 1 July . The government has also issued necessary guidelines which must be strictly followed in the worship places in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The worshop premises should be cleaned regularly and provision for water, soap and sanitizer should be available.
The devotees must wash their hands and feet with water and soap before stepping inside the premises. They should maintain strict social distancing norms within and outside the premises. Physical dstance of 6 feet shall be maintained at all times by marking circles ansd rows. It is compulsory for the visitors to wear face cover. Arrangements should be made for seperate entry nad exit points.
Common prayer mats must be avoided and no physical offerings like prasad, flower and sprinkling of holy water is allowed inside the holy places.
Religious functions and congregation is avoided and all the visitors should be properly regulated and should not be allowed to crowd in the place of worship. Spitting around shall be strictly prohibited.
Touching of statues, idol, holy books and prostration are not allowed in the religious places.
Also people above 65 years of age, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years and those with co-morbidities are not allowed to visit the places of worship.
The deputy commissioners are allowed to regulate and close any religious institutions in order to control the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
At present, the state has 128 active cases. As many as 66 people have recovered from the disease and the state has witnessed only a single COVID-19 fatality so far.
