Guwahati, July 2: Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today instructed the private hospitals in Guwahati to set up specialised facilities and dedicated teams for COVID-19 management.
Himanta held a meeting with all the city’s private hospitals and discussed the necessary preparedness to combat COVID- 19 in the city.
‘In view of the rising number of cases, and likely further escalation, we held a meeting with all private hospitals in Guwahati and instructed them to set up specialised facility and dedicated teams for #COVID19 management. We are in tough times and all must contribute their bit, ‘ Himanta tweeted.
Himanta expressed apprehension that the number of COVID cases in the city may further escalate.
Assam reported another 408 more COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, out of which 378 cases are reported from Guwahati city alone, Himanta mentioned in a tweet.
