Khandu greets Apatani community on occasion of Dree festival

Guwahati, July 5: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today greeted the Apatani community of the state on the occasion of Dree festival.

Etor festival is related to community fencing of the agricultural lands and is celebrated on May 15 every year by the Adi community of Arunachal Pradesh. Etor in Adi dialect means ‘fencing’. This festival marks the beginning of the annual agricultural cycle of the community.
Dree festival is a popular and one of the biggest agricultural festival in Arunachal Pradesh which is celebrated by the Apatani tribes of the state. The festival is marked by sacrificial offerings and prayers. This festival is celebrated on 5th of July every year.
