Manipur to dispatch jackfruit chips to Bangalore, Mumbai

Guwahati, July 13: The Manipur Government will dispatch consignments of jackfruit chips produced from Senapati district to Bangalore and Mumbai, Chief Minister N.Biren Singh said.
The consignments will be dispatched by the Van Dhan Vikas Kendra (VDVK) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED, Singh added.
‘VDVK under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED, the Government of Manipur will dispatch consignments of Jackfruit chips produced from Senapati district of Manipur to Bangalore and Mumbai,’ Singh tweeted.
The jackfruit chips will also be delivered to different parts of the country soon, the minister added.
Van Dhan Scheme launched on 14th April, 2018 is an initiative of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and TRIFED. The scheme seeks to improve the tribal incomes through value addition of tribal products.
