Guwahati, July 22: For the first time in Northeast, stereotactic radiosurgery has been started at Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute.
Stereotactic radiosurgery is a highly sophisticated treatment that is non-invasive, reduces the hazards of open surgery and requires shorter treatment time. The procedure is used in lieu of surgery to treat the patients. Stereotactic radiosurgery started at Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute from July 17, MyGov Assam tweeted.
Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute is a dedicated cancer care hospital and research centre in Guwahati. It is a unit of Tata Memorial Centre in Mumbai.
