Manipur CM express grief over loss of lives due flood in Assam

Guwahati, July 20: Manipur Chief Minister, N Biren Singh has expressed his sadness at the loss of lives and devastation of properties due to the recent floods in Assam.
The Chief Minister in a message in his social media handle had extended heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones during this recent wave of flood in the state.
‘Deeply saddened by the loss of lives by flood in Assam in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones during this flood. My thoughts and prayers are with my dear brothers and sisters of Assam,’ Singh tweeted.
A population of 25.29 lakh in 2400 villages and localities across 24 districts remains affected by the flood, with the highest number of people displaced reported from Goalpara district, where over 4.50 lakh villagers are currently affected. The number of human lives lost in the current wave of floods in Assam rose to 84.
