Meghalaya CM remembers Sushma Swaraj on first death anniversary

Guwahati, Aug 6: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma remembered former external affairs minister, Sushma Swaraj on her first death anniversary today.
‘Humble tributes to Smti. Sushma Swaraj ji on her first death anniversary today. She was a people's leader, a respected stateswoman and a compassionate human being who left an indelible mark on Indian politics,’ Sangma tweeted.
Sushma Swaraj was an Indian politician and a Supreme Court lawyer. Swaraj was a senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party and served as the Minister of External Affairs of India from 2014–2019. Swaraj was the second woman to hold the office, after Indira Gandhi. She was elected seven times as a Member of Parliament and three times as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. Sushma Swaraj died at Delhi's AIIMS at the age of 67 after suffering a heart attack.
