Protests against privatisation of Guwahati airport

Guwahati, August 24: Senior Congress leaders along with other Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) members staged a protest demonstration outside the LGBI Airport on August 24 against handing over of the airport to Adani Enterprises under PPP mode as per decision of the Government of India.

Union Cabinet recently approved the proposal for leasing out Jaipur, Guwahati, and Thiruvanathapuram airports of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) through a public-private partnership.

Members of Airport Authority of India (AAI) Employees' Union also staged a protest demonstration outside the LGBI Airport in Guwahati on August 24 against the Government of India's decision to lease out the airport to Adani Enterprises.
