Guwahati, Sep7: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today paid tribute to Mahapurush Madhavdeva on his Tirobhav Tithi.
Sonowal took to Twitter to pay homage to the saint-scholar on His Tirobhav Tithi. "Mahapurush Sri Sri Madhavadeva gave a new dimension to the neo-Vaishnava tradition. The spiritual and cultural treasures of Assam have been enriched by the creation of Amlan like Namghosa, Bhakti Ratnavali and Bargeet. The great ideals and devotional philosophy of the Gurujana will continue to inspire the Assamese community throughout the ages," Sonowal tweeted.
Mahapurush Sri Sri Madhavadeva was a preacher of he Ekasarana Dharma. The most prominent disciple of Srimanta Sankardev, Madhavdeva is particularly known for his book of hymns, the Naam Ghosa, as well as Borgeets.
