Dibrugarh District Administration felicitates Plasma heros

Guwahati, Sept 16: In order to encourage plasma donation at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH), here Shree Marwari Natya Samity and Dibrugarh Press Club in association with Dibrugarh District Administration felicitated 18 "Plasma heros" in a function held at Motilal Jitani Bhawan, Jhalukpara here today.
The function was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Dibrugarh Pallav Gopal Jha, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dipu Kr Deka, AMC Principal Dr Hiranya Kr Goswami, social workers, Makhan Lal Gattani of Jorhat and Atmaram Birmiwal of Dibrugarh, President, Dibrugarh Press Club, Prabir Kumar Chakraborty, President Marwari Natya Samity Kailash Bagaria, Project Coordinator Ajit Bajaj, Anil Poddar, Secretary, Dibrugarh Press Club, Nirmal Garodia, Secretary, Marwari Natya Samity, members of Press Club, Marwari Natya Samity and various social organisations.
Total 22 donors have donated plasma in Assam Medical College Plasma Bank since yesterday after the project became effective from September 10.
The Deputy Commissioner and other the dignitaries on the dias handed over the Cheques of Rs 5000 each and the felicitation certificates to 18 donors in the function.
Shree Marwari Natya Samity and Dibrugarh Press Club with the help of well wishers of the society have committed to offer Rs.5000 each to first 100 plasma donors who donates plasma at AMCH from September 10 , 2020 onwards.
Earlier in the function, Makhan Lal Gattani of Gattani Industries donated Rs. 3.50 lakh for 70 plasma donors and Atmaram Birmiwal of Dibrugarh contributed Rs. 1.50 lakh for 30 plasma donors who have donate plasma in Assam Medical College Plasma bank under the project taken by Dibrugarh Press Club and Marwari Natya Samity in association with Dibrugarh district administration. They handed over the cheques to the organiser through the Deputy Commissioner.
Dibrugarh Press Club and Marwari Natya Samity expressed their gratitude for their contribution and help for the mankind in the Covid pandemic crisis.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the initiative taken by both the organisations to encourage the plasma donors and expressed that this initiative would definitely increase the number of plasma donation in AMCH.
AMC Principal Dr Hiranya Kr Goswami, Social Workers Makhan Lal Gattani, Atmaram Birmiwal also expressed their views and appreciated the initiative.
Total 70 donors donated their plasma till September 15 since the plasma therapy started at AMCH on August 4 last. Out of total 70 donors, 48 donations were done in first 36 days till September 9.
After the project was stared from September 10 last , 22 plasma donations were done in only in six days, clearly showing the increase by 3 times.
